Vicinity Technologies, a leader in satellite communications, has become the latest business in residence at Surrey Research Park’s SETsquared Surrey business incubator, reinforcing its commitment to advancing 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) and satellite connectivity.
Through its residency at Surrey Research Park, the company formally joins Space South Central, the UK’s largest regional space cluster, unlocking new opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the space sector. This strategic move strengthens Vicinity’s position as a key player in the UK’s growing satellite communications industry, aligning it with cutting-edge research and industry partnerships.
As part of its expansion into non-terrestrial 5G communications, Vicinity Technologies has secured funding from the UK Space Agency, supporting the development of software-driven solutions that bridge terrestrial and space-based networks.
With over 15 years of expertise in 4G and 5G radio access equipment, the company is leveraging this funding to create next-generation NTN solutions that ensure seamless global connectivity. These innovations are designed to enhance communications for applications such as emergency response, remote infrastructure, and global network resilience.
