Surrey Research Park is sponsoring the Tech for Good Award at the UK Business Tech Awards, taking place in July.

The sponsorship forms part of our commitment to ensuring the UK’s most impactful innovators receive the recognition they deserve for enhancing lives and protecting our planet.

Our category sponsorship builds on the partnership we announced in January with the awards organisers. Together, we’re shining a spotlight on the UK’s most ground-breaking technology and the teams behind it.

Surrey Research Park is home to many companies demonstrating how technology can deliver meaningful social and environmental impact. Examples include satellite imaging that supports humanitarian response (Alcis), advanced cancer diagnostics (CancerBusters cluster participants), environmental monitoring using airborne DNA (NatureMetrics), and energy-efficient optical technologies for data centres (Finchetto), among others.

As part of the University of Surrey, and our support for the University’s Vision 2041 roadmap, we’re fostering a business community that is a catalyst for positive change. This includes helping to raise the profile of pioneering teams across the UK tackling the grand challenges of our time.

Why Tech for Good Matters

Caroline Fleming, Director of the Surrey Innovation District ecosystem and Innovation Lead at Surrey Research Park, said:

“Improving lives and making positive contributions to society and the planet unifies Surrey Research Park and the wider Surrey Innovation District ecosystem. That makes sponsoring this category a natural choice for us.

“By supporting this award category, we’re recognising UK innovators as agents for positive change and celebrating their positive impact as a measure of business success.”

Get the recognition you deserve

The Tech for Good category is open to organisations that have developed technology with demonstrable social impact, supported corporate social responsibility activity, or delivered meaningful outcomes for a charity or cause.

Judges will be looking for evidence that the technology is delivering measurable benefits for people and/or the environment. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on July 9th in London.

The UK Business Tech Awards celebrate organisations driving progress across areas including fintech, AI, digital transformation, and healthcare technology, with entries judged by an expert multidisciplinary panel using a robust and transparent process. The awards are accredited ‘Outstanding’ by the Independent Awards Standards Council (Awards Trust Mark).
