Public Event: Surrey Research Park Soapbox Derby

Do you and your team have what it takes to become the first ever Surrey Research Park Soapbox Champions?

The Surrey Research Park Soapbox Derby is your opportunity to get together with teammates, colleagues and friends and take on a fun and raw innovation engineering challenge unlike anything else on the Park.

Put your collective creativity, problem-solving, design and engineering skills to the test and build a soapbox kart / gravity-powered racer kart for a chance to win the coveted Surrey Research Park Soapbox Derby Trophy.

Our inaugural Soapbox Derby is free to enter and takes place during lunchtime (12noon to 2.30pm) on Wednesday 4th November.

Never built a gravity-powered kart before? Then this is for you.

We’re welcoming first-time teams, non-technical creators and seasoned engineers alike. Whether you’re interested in aerodynamics and performance, artistic expression and design, or simply bringing colleagues together to create something spectacular – then there’s a place for you on our grid.

Our Soapbox Derby is a chance to do something different and memorable in your working day, applying your creativity, ingenuity and teamwork to a challenge and have some fun.

No commitment is required at this stage.

Open to all innovative companies and orgaisations in Surrey and beyond.
