As the country has been in an extraordinary state of lockdown, thanks to everyone playing their part in staying at home and keeping social distance in accordance with government instructions.
At this unprecedented time, Surrey Research Park and the University of Surrey are working hard to help businesses on the Park and the local community.
Please see below an update on our operating services.
Surrey Technology Centre Reception service
We are ensuring we maintain a virtual reception service.
Businesses located in Surrey Technology Centre can have incoming calls via Surrey Technology Centre reception diverted to their mobiles or home office numbers.
If you haven’t put this in place yet, please inform reception on email@example.com of the extension number and mobile/home number you would like it forwarded to.
Access and Security
The Surrey Technology Centre does remain open to tenants with access via the rear secure doors. There has been no change to the level of security presence on the Park and in Surrey Technology Centre.
Surrey Research Park is continuing to maintain communal areas as per the current procedures. However, we would like to remind you that all companies remain liable for cleaning their own offices and shared lobby areas, if applicable.
Working with the community
The University of Surrey has already offered partner organisations, including the Royal Surrey County Hospital and Guildford Borough Council, its facilities such as sports halls, student accommodation, laboratories and parking.
Since the Government announced that all restaurants and cafes are to close, the University of Surrey and Surrey Research Park have donated food that has been left over from catering facilities to local foodbanks and to local NHS staff.
Surrey Research Park parking available to NHS workers
In addition to the Parking that has been made available on the University of Surrey campus, Surrey Research Park has made available 120 parking spaces and BAE Systems located on Surrey Research Park has given NHS staff access to their car park.
Remote networking and collaboration
Recently we set up Surrey Research Park tenant forum on LinkedIn. It is a forum to encourage collaboration and networking within the Park and it is an excellent opportunity to remain connected in these challenging circumstances. We will be posting updates and keeping you informed of opportunities. We encourage all employees on Surrey Research Park to sign up to this group. Simply search Surrey Research Park tenant forum and request to join the group. If you have queries or problems, please contact Vicki Fletcher on 07968 975399 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Communicating updates from the Park
We will continue to send updates on operations at Surrey Research Park via our newsletter, therefore please ensure you and your team have all signed up here.
Celebrating our resilient spirit
Finally, we would like to recognise the extraordinary effort businesses on Surrey Research Park are making at this extremely challenging time to not only fight COVID-19, but to grow their business or to simply keep their business afloat.
April’s edition of our newsletter, Park Life, has many positive stories from our tenant businesses that are successfully deploying their expertise and resources in the fight against Coronavirus. We have also reported on companies that have grown and are looking to hire.
We have always been extremely proud of the resourcefulness and entrepreneurial spirit on Surrey Research Park. Over the years, our tenant businesses have created thousands of jobs and contributed significantly to the local economy. In the past, many companies have benefited from collaborating with the University and with each other.
As always, the team at Surrey Research Park is committed to supporting your business, promoting your successes and helping you forge successful relationships with the University of Surrey and other businesses on the Park.
One of our key ethos is the importance of collaboration. We have identified several opportunities in our latest newsletter. Please do contact email@example.com if you would like more information on any of the collaborative opportunities highlighted.
Now more than ever, we believe if we continue to play our part and work together successfully that we will all emerge from this crisis stronger and better prepared for the future.
