Surrey Research Park was awarded the Chamber Member of the Year Award at Surrey Chamber of Commerce’s Awards Ceremony last night.
The win was announced by Louise Punter, CEO of Surrey Chamber of Commerce. She commented that ‘Surrey Research Park has not only supported the Chamber for many years but also a number of local businesses by helping to create opportunities for them to grow and flourish.’
Broadcaster and comedian Mark Dolan was invited to host and present the awards at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 21st November 2019.
The Chamber Member of the Year award recognises members who have been actively engaged with the local business community and demonstrated a dedicated commitment to their team, delivering outstanding service and having a strong plan for sustainable performance.
There were more successes on the night for companies located on or associated with Surrey Research Park and the University of Surrey. Tenant firm, Streeva who is building the world’s first payment communications network that can deliver payment data without the need for personal data was nominated for the ‘Business Innovation of the Year’ category and were highly commended as a company to watch.
Also, Securium Ltd, a University of Surrey spin-out company, won the Start-up of the Year Award. The Founder and CEO, Dr Anna Vartapetiance gained her PhD from the University of Surrey and worked as a researcher in the University’s Centre for Cyber Security. Securium Ltd is an Advanced Cyber-Intelligence company developing software and services to protect businesses and individuals.
Surrey Research Park was also shortlisted for ‘The Large Business of the Year’ award which recognises local businesses with an annual turnover of over £5 million that demonstrate a healthy financial performance and a strategic plan for growth.
