Surrey Research Park is thrilled to welcome Azaries– a pioneering AI startup– to its thriving dynamic community of innovative and tech-led businesses.

Launched at the Park’s flagship Surrey Technology Centre, Azaries specialises in “Human Artificial Intelligence.” The company’s innovative platform uses iterative learning to help organisations unlock meaningful patterns in their data, enhancing decision-making across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and retail.

The platform’s capabilities extend to generating recommendations, suggesting actions, and even automating decisions in time-critical scenarios, making it a powerful tool for businesses navigating fast-moving environments.

Caroline Fleming, Director of the Surrey Innovation District at the University of Surrey, said:

“We’re excited to welcome Azaries to our Surrey Research Park community and the wider Surrey Innovation District ecosystem, which this year is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Like many companies at the Park, Azaries has ambitious growth plans and the expertise to make a significant contribution to our region’s technical excellence.”

“Here at the Park, as part of the University of Surrey, we look forward to supporting Azaries’ growth by connecting them with fellow AI pioneers, and talented graduates and postgraduates from our Institute of People-Centred AI and computer science faculties.”

Graham Gourlay, a spokesperson for Azaries, said:

The Azaries platform is a unique UK-based breakthrough in Human Artificial Intelligence (HAI) applications. Azaries delivers efficacy, confidence, and explainability—an essential component of AI. Our platform ensures AI is truly human-friendly, providing not just answers but human-readable explanations. It is also professionally competent, comparable to the reasoning behind a medical diagnosis, and can be tailored to specific domains. This means an organisation’s data becomes a competitive advantage, rather than relying on widely available generalised models.

“Our world-leading technology is rooted in the UK and specifically developed at Surrey Research Park. The Azaries platform acts as a ‘bridge’ between AI methodologies such as DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Large Language Models, and Generative AI—making AI more human-centric. Bringing the human element into AI remains at the heart of what we do, and that is what makes Azaries truly unique.”

AI Opportunities

Azaries is joining the Park at an exciting time; the arrival of DeepSeek this week has sent shockwaves through the AI marketplace, challenging established giants with its cost-effective and high-performing models, and sparking significant market reactions.

Plus, the UK Government recently unveiled its AI Opportunities Action Plan, created by Matt Clifford Chair of ARIA, the UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency, which is designed to drive economic growth and create future jobs by fostering innovation in artificial intelligence.

Surrey Research Park Community Thrives in 2025

Azaries is one of two businesses to establish operations at Surrey Research Park in January. Specialist recruitment company Damia Group, has relocated from a local business park to join our vibrant and innovative community.
