Student Enterprise company wins place at SETsquared Surrey

A company formed by University of Surrey students has won a coveted place at the Surrey Research Park’s Incubation Hub (powered by SETsquared Surrey) this July.

Every year the Student Enterprise department at the University runs a competition to award the most promising start-up founders within their portfolio with funded opportunities to develop their business with cash and support over the summer. Competing for these Foundership opportunities also puts students and recent graduates in the running for a funded place within SETsquared, the global no. 1 business incubator and enterprise partnership comprising six research-intensive universities alongside Surrey; Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter and Southampton.

Winning company InForecast is a Software-as-a-Service data analytics platform for construction project teams to improve project outcomes via systemisation, forecasting, benchmarking, and automation run by co-founders Dmitry Minskiy and Nick Stepanov, both recent Surrey graduates.

Using state-of-the-art technology including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Blockchain to achieve their goals, InForecast helps their clients to improve operational efficiency and boost client satisfaction by enhancing organisation-level visibility of existing and potential issues, as well as reducing reliance on individual experience to secure project success. InForecast also aims to establish a first-ever Project Management Data Trust.

The year-long membership, funded by Santander Universities as part of their long-standing philanthropic support of campus entrepreneurship, allows a company to accelerate their growth through specialist EiR mentorship, fundraising and bid-writing support and immersion in the thriving start-up ecosystem found within the dynamic SETsquared incubator based at the Surrey Tech Centre on Surrey Research Park.

PhD graduate Dmitry Minskiy says of winning the funded place at SETsquared Surrey, “Nick and I are very grateful and excited about this opportunity as we look forward to becoming a part of SETsquared entrepreneurial ecosystem. Next year promises to be productive and fruitful but the right environment can boost it even further. With mentorship and first-class support available at SETsquared we look forward to taking our business to new heights.”
