
Sammi-Select has been recognised at the British Diversity Awards for its pioneering work in neuroinclusive recruitment.
The company was awarded Highly Commended in the Diversity in Technology (Disability) category for its GENIUS project (Generating Neuroinclusive Selection), funded through Innovate UK, Woman in Innovation awarded to Dr Alison Callwood, which is transforming the hiring process to be more accessible for neurodivergent individuals.
Co-founded by Dr Alison Callwood, Sammi-Select is a University of Surrey spin-out and a member of the SETsquared Surrey incubator, which supports high-growth technology ventures. The company’s recognition at the British Diversity Awards highlights the growing impact of research-driven innovation in addressing workplace inclusivity challenges. The GENIUS project, supported by funding from Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation Award, focuses on redesigning traditional recruitment methods to ensure fairer and more effective hiring for neurodivergent talent. This achievement underscores the importance of inclusive technology in creating equal opportunities across industries.
Speaking about the award, Alison is extremely grateful to the volunteers from the neurodivergent community who made this possible, highlighting the significance of the award following Neurodiversity Celebration Week, which raises awareness of neurodivergent talent and the need for greater inclusion in workplaces. Alison expressed gratitude for the recognition, particularly in a competitive category where Sammi-Select was named alongside major corporate players such as HSBC.
