Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) based at Surrey Research Park are committed to developing young people into the stars of tomorrow. They offer several avenues to help you start your career in space, from work experience to early careers programmes.
School Work Experience:
Designed for those aged 11-18 years old, this work experience offers a hands-on experience across several different Engineering Functions helping students gain a better understanding of the space industry to see if they would like a career in space. This week-long placement runs over the school holidays.
Industrial Placement Work Experience:
Designed for those aged 18 – 21 years old currently studying at University, this work experience offers more exposure to the company and the way they work, helping students gain an in-depth knowledge of an engineering function suitable to their studies, whilst getting to work alongside some of SSTL’s most experienced employees. Placements are for a 6-12 month period.
Graduate Programme:
Designed for those who have recently graduated, this 2 year programme expands on the skills and knowledge gained through studying a degree, whilst giving the opportunity to work with SSTL employees and build on the job experience.
Apprenticeship Programme:
Designed for those who have recently completed A-Levels or equivalent, SSTL’s 4 year apprenticeship programmes are a great opportunity to gain a recognised degree qualification whilst developing on-the-job experience and building a career in space.
