Invite to celebrate Women in Engineering at the University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is celebrating the talents and achievements of Women in Engineering on 13th November.

The event, marking the centenary of the Women’s Engineering Society of which the University is an educational partner, aims to showcase the talents and successes of its female students and early career researchers and graduates.

Tenant firms are invited to join the celebrations, whilst giving them the opportunity to meet some of the University’s top performing students and discover hiring opportunities for the future.

The Employability and Careers team at the University of Surrey will also be on hand to discuss recruitment options for professional training year students and graduate posts.

Summary of event:

4pm – a series of talks covering all engineering disciplines ( biomedical engineering, civil, electronic, chemical and mechanical engineering to aerospace) with speakers ranging from final year undergraduates, PhD students and young researchers.

6pm – a networking session and exhibition from early career researchers showcasing their work.

7pm – presentations from women with outstanding industrial and academic careers. A panel Q&A session highlighting the issues for women in engineering and the role men can play in addressing them
