Surrey Research Park company SATRO are an educational charity working with schools across the country to inspire children of all age groups to follow a career in STEM.
Your company can benefit from their research work placement programme, giving young people real-world experience whilst positioning your brand with the next generation of Surrey based interns, apprentices and degree students.
SATRO have over 100 applicants this year eager to collaborate with companies on virtual short projects for 2 weeks full time or 4 weeks part time, from 1st July to 22nd August.
Projects can be in the form of a report, video, poster, presentation or combination which the students present back to you at the end of the placement.
Examples of projects from 2021 include:
- Are grey, blue, and purple hydrogen colourful stepping stones to an entirely green hydrogen market?
- Explore the future of work in 1, 5 and 10+ years’ time based on the impact on work of the COVID pandemic.
- Create a video storyboard to explain a project at the Surrey Ion Beam Centre to young STEM students.
The programme remains virtual this year because it has enabled young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain valuable work experience with Surrey’s top companies.
