Technology Transfer (Innovation) Manager University of Surrey
The University of Surrey Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences is recruiting for a Technology Transfer Innovation Manager, to work in their Faculty Research and Innovation Office, this is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our academic community and industry contacts to develop impact through the commercialisation of FEPS research.
About the role
Responsibilities:
- The commercialisation of university intellectual property, producing income from licensing, equity stakes in spin-out companies, and associated research contracts.
- Identifying a pipeline of research with commercial potential would be expected to be familiar with the impact agenda and able to create opportunities for maximising impact from your portfolio.
About you
They are looking for someone with:
- A degree in a physical science or engineering discipline or substantial vocational and relevant management experience, or success in a similar or related role, supported by evidence of significant appropriate knowledge.
- Strong business acumen with an associated network of contacts, the ability to bridge successfully between academia and business and to find markets for technologies.
- A sound knowledge of patenting, licence deal structures and the spin-out process ideally in the UK Higher Education arena.
