Free bid and tender writing programme

Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils are launching a programme to help local businesses benefit more widely from public sector contracts.

This bid and tender writing training is a government grant-funded programme, which consists of beginner and intermediate levels, run by Executive Compass.

Beginners

The beginner’s course is suitable for organisations who are completely new to bidding or those with some experience who want to benefit from the opportunities that public sector tendering presents. Delegates will be supported to gain an understanding of public sector tendering, how the bid process works, ways to identify potential opportunities, the requirements of the selection questionnaires widely used by buyers throughout the UK and the makings of a compliant and competitive bid.

Session one:  Thursday 17 March and  Friday 18 March

Session two:  Thursday 24 March and Friday 25 March

Intermediate

The intermediate course is specifically aimed at organisations with some experience of tendering, with a central aim of improving their quality scores. Delegates will become more confident with creating winning themes, deconstructing tender questions, applying evidence to their responses and writing well-structured, persuasive responses to various tender questions. Specific topics, such as social value, are also introduced and discussed in good detail, preparing delegates for the kinds of questions they will encounter time after time when bidding for contracts.

Session three: Thursday 31 March and Friday 1 April
