The Surrey Technology Centre provides office space for small and start-up businesses specialising in technology, research, development and design.
The range of office spaces available facilitates the growth of businesses while keeping overheads down. There is invaluable support in the form of a reception desk, telecommunication systems, well equipped meeting rooms and numerous events and networking opportunities. The University of Surrey’s academic resources as well as their business incubators also add value to a business settled in this dynamic space. This hive of activity encourages the development and growth of many small companies – as the many success stories will bear testament to.
Units ranging in size from 120 to 880 square feet (11 – 82 sq.m) are fitted to quality office standards with carpet, air conditioning (heating and cooling), telephony system, broadband service, lighting and a 13 amp single phase ring main.
Units are finished to an office standard with carpet, suspended ceiling, heating/cooling air conditioning and lighting. A telephone system (including handsets) and shared internet provision are also included in the price.
The majority of units include a tea point for self service. In addition, units have a water supply and draining point and in some cases the opportunity for fume extraction if required. Electricity used in each unit is metered and then billed for by the Technology Centre.
Each unit is serviced to assist new businesses by releasing companies from both the task of managing property and the burden of providing such facilities as an internet connections, fax, photocopier, postal services and a telephone system.
Occupiers therefore have an excellent opportunity to start a business or develop an existing business in a prestigious environment without some of the significant costs associated with a start up position.
All units have dedicated parking included in the price of occupation. Those less than 350 sq.ft have one space (with one that is shared with its neighbour) and those over 350 sq.ft have two or three spaces. In addition there are 37 visitors parking bays at the front of the building and access to road side parking in an unrestricted zone next to the building that is under the control of the Research Park Management.
The Surrey Technology Centre incubator is the ideal location for any new business to start their venture. The professional support along with first-class facilities allows any entrepreneur to focus on their main priority of building their enterprise. Being part of the larger University of Surrey and Surrey Research Park eco-system also provides unrivalled access to talent and expertise for start-ups.

Since joining SETsquared my business skills have developed significantly. I attended the Entrepreneurship training course just over 2 years ago with the mind-set that a product was a business, the mentoring, workshops and networking has taught me a huge amount about the issues that any entrepreneur needs to address to get a company off the ground and put me in a much better position to build a successful company.

The STC is the ideal place for us to do business. It provides us with a representative business address and office space at a very good location with its access to the A3, being close to the University and Guildford town centre. Our visitors / clients often complement the office space and the meeting rooms. Being at the heart / entrance of the research park, does allow us to easily connect with other exciting and relevant businesses that are placed here.
