Venner Shipley moves up in the Park

Due to rapid expansion, European intellectual property attorney firm Venner Shipley has moved to larger premises on the Surrey Research Park and is now based in Stirling House.

Venner Shipley has its headquarters in central London and established a small presence on the Surrey Research Park with just three people over four years ago, setting up an office in the Surrey Technology Centre (STC). The original reason for locating on the Park was that the firm had a very close relationship with the University of Surrey and wanted to set up a new provincial office to be closer to the University.

Venner Shipley has since made many business contacts on the Park. It now files patents, designs and trade marks for about 15 Park companies.

Anton Hutter, head of the Guildford office, comments: “We love being on the Surrey Research Park. It is fantastic to be a short walk away from so many of our clients. We can see people face to face rather than via phone or email. We offer a complimentary initial meeting to all new Park tenants and we host an IP clinic every other month through our friends at SETsquared.”

The firm now has 11 team members working at the Surrey Research Park specialising in electronics & software, chemistry & bioscience, and trademarks, and has recently relocated to an office four times the size of its previous unit in the STC.

The new address is 5 Stirling House, Stirling Road, GU2 7RF and the phone number is now 01483 920500.
